Mark is President and CEO of Afficiency. He founded Afficiency with Ravi Arasan to develop turnkey technology solutions to address significant opportunities in the “Direct” US Life Insurance space. Mark has nearly 20 years of experience working at major financial service institutions (Morgan Stanley, American Express and MetLife), rising to leadership positions and developing expertise in disciplines such as strategy, marketing, operations, finance and data science.
Ravi is Chief Platform Officer and co-founder of Afficiency and the sole owner and founder of BDI plus. This entity will provide all the technology solutions offered by Afficiency. Prior to forming BDI Plus, Ravi had several leadership roles at American Express including head of R&D. He was responsible for developing many of American Express’s most advance proprietary capabilities including the operationalization of big data and Machine Learning.
Bob is Chairman of Afficiency and has over 40 years of experience in the life insurance industry. Bob’s extensive life insurance, distribution and leadership experience will guide Afficiency as we develop product, distribution and technology solutions. Bob is also President and CEO of Gracie Point, a specialty premium finance firm. Prior to Gracie Point Bob served as President and CEO of Concord Capital Management. Bob worked for over 25 years with MetLife, most recently as President, Life Brokerage. After MetLife he used his extensive life insurance and distribution experience to lead Distribution for Jefferson Pilot Financial and Highland Capital Brokerage/NFP.
Carl has over 15 years’ experience advising on compliance and implementation strategies in highly regulated environments. He has worked in start-ups in insurance, education, and the non-profit sector, developing streamlined, digital solutions that put customers first. His experience as an attorney, consultant, and business leader positions Afficiency to help our clients “get things done
Mark Hug is Chief Product and Distribution Officer of Afficiency. Mark brings over 30 years of experience to , recently retired EVP of Product and Marketing from Prudential Financial, is a recognized business leader who has shaped the life insurance industry over the last three decades. Throughout his distinguished 30-year career he held senior leadership positions in global fortune companies including Transamerica, Aetna, AXA, and Prudential. His prowess in marketing was recognized in 2014 when Forbes named him one of the 50 most influential global Chief Marketing Officers of 2014.
Muriel is Chief Marketing Officer of Afficiency and runs her own boutique insurance marketing firm. With over 30 years of experience marketing financial services products, Muriel’s unique blend of insurance knowledge and marketing expertise will significantly help Afficiency develop customer centric products, messaging and programs that span the customer journey and thought sequence.
